SOLUK

“SOLUK” is a formal representation inspired by Spinoza’s concept of “Conatus”. It narrates the effort to survive, in accordance with necessary causality, based on two coexisting realities: the digital and the physical, both of which are sustained by the act of breath. This dilemma stands as one of the significant challenges of contemporary humans. “Breath” delves into potential manifestations the act of breathing might assume. Moreover, it alludes to the pandemic era, during which we struggle to survive by the most primal instinct, and it unveils the transformation etched into the fabric of our lives during that period. Selected for Akbank 41st Contemporary Artists Prize Exhibition.

“SOLUK”, Spinoza’nın “Conatus”u üzerine kurulmuş biçimsel bir temsiliyettir. Zorunlu nedensellik üzerine var kalma çabasını, nefesimizle hayatta tuttuğumuz birisi dijital diğeri fiziksel iki gerçeklik üzerinden anlatır. Bu ikilem günümüz insanının en büyük çıkmazlarından birisidir. Çalışma, soluma eyleminin alabileceği olası formları irdeler. Aynı zamanda, en içgüdüsel şekilde var kalmaya çalıştığımız salgın dönemine de gönderme yapar ve bu dönemin hayat düzenimizde yarattığı değişimi ifşa eder. Akbank 41'inci Günümüz Sanatçıları Ödüllü Sergisine Seçilmiştir.
